ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Alberto Huichapa, a bilingual Communications Manager for El Paso Locomotive FC in the USL Championship.

​

Soccer, storytelling, and social media were heavily prevalent in my life growing up. I knew that the three had to be a part of whatever I chose to do with my life and I'm grateful to have found a career for myself that allows me to enjoy each of them every day. 

​

From writing and editing to content creation and data information, my experiences have shaped me into someone who can help provide values-driven organizations such as El Paso Locomotive FC with powerful and inspiring narratives to engage and inform fans, media, and sponsors.

RECENT EXPERIENCE

2025-

El Paso Locomotive FC

Communications Manager

El Paso, Texas

  • Lead the Communications and Marketing department staff on a day-to-day basis, ensuring projects are being kept on track and that key messaging is being sent out to internal and external audiences.

  • Take over all aspects of event credentialing, from editing credential policies to delivery of credentials to media.

  • Utilize TV Eyes to monitor audience reach and TV ad value as well as analyze and compile team mentions across TV and radio.

  • Maintain responsibilities held as Media Relations Specialist.

2022-25

El Paso Locomotive FC

Media Relations Specialist

El Paso, Texas

  • Responsible for all written content including press releases and club articles. 

  • Assist broadcast production with game notes (team and player info, stats, etc.).

  • Organize press conferences, interviews and community appearances for club leadership,  coaches, staff and players (English and Spanish). 

  • Serve as the club's primary media contact (English and Spanish). 

  • Produce engaging social media content on gameday. 

  • Work with several departments to inform audiences of club efforts on and off the pitch. 

Kensington Soccer Club

Communications Coordinator

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

  • Oversaw and created social and written content for all teams and programs

  • Conducted interviews with staff, players, families, and supporters

  • Served as the primary media contact for the club (English and Spanish)

  • Revamped the club's digital branding and online platforms

  • Managed social media and photography interns

FC Juárez 

Media Relations Assistant

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico

  • Coordinate interviews for club leadership, coaches and players with El Paso media to provide the club with wider reach and engagement across the Borderplex region. 

  • Serve as an English and Spanish translator for press conferences and interviews. 

  • Write English press releases for the club to inform English-speaking fans about efforts on and off the field. 

  • Assist with social media content.
